With its elaborate construction and stunning beauty,
A watch is sometimes regarded as a microcosm.
If we look closely at its details,
A breathtaking landscape spreads out before us.
Now, let’s go on a journey into the universe of Grand Seiko,
And explore what we haven’t yet seen.
In the vicinity of Lake Suwa is the Shinshu Watch Studio (located within Seiko Epson’s Shiojiri facility), one of the primary manufacturing sites of Grand Seiko. In this area, during the early mornings of midwinter, it is possible to witness a natural phenomenon known as a “sun pillar”—a vertical column of light that appears when sunlight reflects off ice particles suspended in the frigid air.
This timepiece expresses the mystical landscape of Shinshu on its dial by combining jet-black tones with shimmering gold-colored accents, based on the popular “Ice Forest” dial design. The case follows Grand Seiko’s next-generation design philosophy, the “Evolution 9 Style,” and is crafted from 18k yellow gold, offering excellent harmony with the dial. A strap measuring more than half the case diameter ensures a comfortable and stable fit, allowing the wearer to enjoy both a sense of luxury and a high level of practicality.
